BOSS U14s Show Heart and Gritty Defense in Hard-Fought Clash Against Fleet Flyers
BOSS came out flying in the opening period, executing sharp offensive sets and setting a ferocious defensive tone to capture an impressive 24-13 lead. T. Lambert and F. Stein Piket ignited the offense with confident finishing inside and out, while active rebounding across the roster gave the squad complete control of the game's early tempo.
The second quarter presented significant adversity as Fleet Flyers countered with high pressure, capitalizing on turnovers to turn the momentum in a 28-4 run. Showing tremendous character and composure, BOSS regrouped during the break and responded with a suffocating third-quarter defensive display, limiting the Flyers to just six points behind the relentless hustle of L. Griffin and strong interior work from G. Stephenson.
Although Fleet Flyers managed to execute down the stretch in the fourth quarter to close out a 65-53 result, there were tremendous positives to take from our overall effort and tactical execution. Our ability to battle back into contention demonstrated great heart, while our high-intensity defensive spells provide a brilliant foundation as we continue working on ball security and composure under pressure.
