BOSS U14 Boys Show True Grit and Resolve in Hard-Fought Battle Against Abingdon Eagles
BOSS came out with tremendous energy and positive intent in the opening period against a formidable Abingdon Eagles squad. The boys showed fantastic attacking confidence early on, moving the ball well and attacking the basket aggressively to put 14 points on the board. Strong rebounding from #15 L. Griffin and #3 R. Dixon, along with a timely three-pointer from #0 T. Lambert, kept the team right in contention during a high-paced and competitive first quarter that ended 14-20.
As the game progressed into the middle quarters, Abingdon applied heavy defensive pressure that disrupted our offensive flow and forced several turnovers. Despite scoring droughts in the second and third frames, the team showed immense character and determination. The boys never dropped their heads, continuing to battle on the boards with #7 B. Johnston anchoring the interior and #6 G. Stephenson and #8 F. Stein Piket coming up with key defensive stops and hustle plays to keep spirits high.
In the fourth quarter, BOSS rallied impressively to put together an 11-point frame, highlighted by sharp finishing from #4 I. Lopez and determined paint play from #10 D. Zammit. While the final score of 35-65 reflected the quality and depth of the Eagles, the effort, resilience, and teamwork displayed throughout the contest gave us plenty of positives to build on as we continue our developmental journey together.
