BOSS U16 Green Shows Heart and Determination in Tough Battle with Farnborough Phantoms
BOSS U16 Green came out with strong energy in the opening quarter against a talented Farnborough Phantoms I team. Brodie sparked the offense early with a smooth shot from beyond the arc off a feed from Will, while AJ and Jos set an aggressive defensive tone on the perimeter with quick steals. Although Farnborough found success pushing the tempo to build an early 24-13 lead, our squad battled through contact and stayed competitive from the opening tip.
The second quarter saw our best defensive display of the afternoon, as the team tightened up rotations and held the Phantoms to just 15 points. Malachi anchored the paint with key rebounds and rim protection, while Henry and Jos consistently attacked the basket to earn trips to the free-throw line. Will capped off the first half with a timely three-pointer assisted by Luca, heading into the break with plenty of positive momentum.
Farnborough made a decisive push in the second half, capitalizing on transition opportunities and offensive rebounds to extend their lead to a 42-89 final. Despite the scoreboard, BOSS continued to fight until the final buzzer, with Michael, Chris, and Raffa putting in tremendous effort down the stretch. This matchup gave us valuable experience against high-level pressure, highlighting clear priorities for practice in ball security, finishing, and defensive box-outs.
